Ferliliser Friday / GBBD

The 2012 Hampton Court Flower show has just concluded in the UK and Orchids were as you would expect very much centre of attention. The following were some of the blooms that caught my eye in the large floral marquee.

Phalaenopsis  'little zebra'
Brassia Painter 'Big Spider'
Anguloa clowesii



Paphiopedilum Vanguard 'Las Colinas'



Paphiopedilum 'Armeni White'


Dendrobium Phalaenopsis 'Thailand Black'


Phalaenopsis 'Snow Apple'

    Hi Mark and Gaz, i love the profuse flowering of the Phals in that first photo! I scrutinized it and even just one spike has lots of flowers, beautiful.

    Beautiful photos of the orchids. Here on the shores of Lake Michigan we have a couple of native orchids. Amazing here in zone 5. It is not the tropics but orchids like Lady Slipper do well here. The lake helps out a lot. Enjoyed seeing your Blog. Jack

      Hi Jack, Orchids seem to do well in so many differing climates. There are well over 20,000 species so its not surprising there is one for almost every location.

    Beautiful, thats is an interesting yellow anguola orchid, almost tulip like.
